The Summer Smarts course in Mathematics and Language Arts for students in grade 2 will provide an individualized study plan in the subject based on students’ current level of knowledge and skills.  Based on initial tests at the beginning  of the course students will be prescribed lessons that will provide foundational, maintenance or acceleration in mathematic concepts including understanding numbers, order of operations, and geometry concepts.  All lessons are aligned to the Common Core standards for Mathematics and Language Arts in grade 2. Math practice will be done through interactive lessons that make studying fun!

A teacher will monitor each students’ progress through the course and provide LiveLessons as well as daily tutoring hours to provide one-on-one assistance.  When a student is ready for acceleration the teacher will move them into levels of higher skill based lessons.  If a students need more time and practice on specific skills, they will be provided additional lessons and encouraged to attend the live tutoring sessions.  Tutoring sessions shall be held at various time during regular school hours to accommodate differing schedules.
