The Summer Smarts course in Language Arts for students in grade 3- 5 will provide an individualized study plan in the subject based on students’ current level of knowledge and skills. Based on initial tests at the beginning of the course students will be prescribed lessons that will provide foundational, maintenance or acceleration in various Language Arts concepts including reading comprehension, vocabulary and grammar. All lessons are aligned to the Common Core standards for Language Arts in grades 3 – 5.. A teacher will monitor each students’ progress through the course and provide LiveLessons as well as daily tutoring hours to provide one-on-one assistance. When a student is ready for acceleration the teacher will move them into levels of higher skill based lessons. If a students need more time and practice on specific skills, they will be provided additional lessons and encouraged to attend the live tutoring sessions. Tutoring sessions shall be held at various times during regular school hours to accommodate differning schedules.

Seeking course credit at your full-time school? Please be aware that if you plan to transfer credit from International Connections Academy to a non-Connections Academy school, the decision about whether to accept iNaCA course credits is wholly at the discretion of the school to which you hope to transfer the credits.
We strongly recommend that you discuss with your school their transfer credit policy, and inform them about your plans to take a course or courses through iNaCA, prior to registering for an iNaCA course. You may need the course description and Credit Request Form if you are not a Connections Academy student, but are seeking to obtain credit for International Connections Academy summer school courses at your full-time school.
